Delta Zeta’s philanthropy is the speech and hearing impaired. Our chapter is fortunate enough to be the only sorority with their philanthropy located on campus. The University of Alabama’s Speech and Hearing Center provides speech and hearing evaluations, therapy for adults and children, full-range hearing evaluations, hearing-aid fitting, dispensing, and repair, counseling, and other speech and hearing programs to the Tuscaloosa area.

Our chapter hosts an Easter Egg Hunt and Valentine’s Day party for the center’s preschool classes each year.

Proceeds from our annual Clay Classic and Hamburgers for Hearing Cookout are donated to the UA Speech and Hearing Center.

In addition to supporting our national philanthropy, our chapter also donates to other organizations. This year, we donated to Tuscaloosa’s One Place, Victoria Secret PINK’s clothing drive, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the RISE Center, Laps for Cystic Fibrosis, Beat Auburn Beat Hunger, Birmingham Children’s Miracle Network, Children’s Hospital of Alabama, Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, and SGA Book Scholarship Fund.

This spring, our members donated over 2,000 hours of their time, an average of 10 hours per member, by participating in various volunteer work in the community
